Downy Serviceberry is a native small tree that is a great addition to any yard.
It gets attractive white flowers in spring that the pollinators love.
It gets edible delicious berries that are loved by humans and wildlife.
It’s a small tree (15-20 feet tall) that is hardy and adaptable to most locations.
It is a host plant to over 100 caterpillar species. Including the Red spotted purple butterfly.
The downy serviceberry trees are in 1 gallon pots and are roughly 2 feet tall.
Host Plant for 29 caterpillar species.
A great native fruit producing plant. Birds love the ripe berries in summer. A great food source for young birds. Will bring life to your garden.
Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis) is a deciduous shrub that grows to a height of 6-12 feet at maturity. It blooms in mid to late summer with large clusters of white or cream-colored flowers that are followed by dark purple berries in the fall. Elderberry prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. It is valued for its edible berries, which can be used to make jam, jelly, wine, and other culinary treats. Elderberry is also popular for attracting birds and other wildlife to the garden.
