A native deciduous vine that gets lush green leaves. Can grow between 10-30 feet tall. A twining vine that prefers moist soils. Afternoon shade is also preferred in our climate. I have two dutchman pipe vines doing very well growing on our fence with afternoon shade. Dutchman’s pipe is the only host plant for the Pipevine swallowtail. I only see a few pipevine swallowtails every summer therefore we need more dutchman pipe vines in our area. A rare plant to find in the nursery trade.
Dutchman pipe is in quart size pots. The plants are roughly 5 inches tall, grown from seed.
