Description: Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium) is a native grass that grows to a height of 2-4 feet at maturity. It blooms in late summer to early fall with purplish-brown spikelets that turn silvery white as they mature. The grass is drought-tolerant and prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is an excellent choice for erosion control, wildlife habitat, and as an ornamental grass in prairie-style gardens.
