Mason Bee House Bungalow

This mason bee house was hand made by Bring Back the Butterfly's very own father, out of lumber from felled trees from his property in Midland, North Carolina.

Mason bees are solitary bees, so unlike honey bees, they do not form a colony. They will lay their eggs in the tubes of this mason bee house in the spring. Mason bees are important native pollinators, and their species is on the decline. By putting a mason bee house in your garden, you can help ensure their long term survival while also benefiting from their highly efficient pollination.

Our mason bee hives are designed with the health and wellness of the mason bee in mind. The low-density house doesn't attract predators the way high density houses do. The cardboard tubes are dryer and cleaner than bamboo, so the bees are less likely to catch diseases. The deep overhanging roof also protects the tubes from rain. The bee house also features a hinged roof and removable trays so that the tubes can be easily replaced every season.

These bee houses have pre-drilled holes for mounting to a sturdy post, fence, wall, or tree. Dimensions of the bee house are: 9.5 inches tall at the highest point x 5 inches wide x 8.5 inches deep at the top, 7 inches deep at the bottom.

Available in a green wash with a red wash roof, or a greenwash with a purple wash roof. There is variation in the wood grain between individual bee houses that may not match the houses photographed.
