Only found in the southern piedmont of the south, Painted buckeye is a neat native understory tree/shrub. Typically growing in flood plains and riparian areas, Painted buckeye is a worthy plant to add to your garden.
Grows 10-15 feet tall, and prefers rich moist soil, in part shade.
Gets attractive yellowish flowers in early spring, which pollinators including hummingbirds enjoy.
Selling small 1-2 foot trees in 1-gallon pots. Planting smaller trees/shrubs will help the plants acclimate to its forever home faster, and will grow fast once established.
