An attractive small native multi stemmed shrub. Gets white flowers in early spring that the pollinators love (especially the native solitary bees). . Berries will develop on the shrub and linger on the shrub until the song birds eat them in late winter. A very attractive plant through all season. May sucker and spread slowly over time. Stays fairly small 6-10 feet tall.
Host plant for over 20 lepidoptera species.
The berries are edible but are very tart/bitter.
